The Atlanta Fire is pleased to announce the Tier I coaching staff for the upcoming 2012-2013 season. We believe this is the strongest group of coaches we have ever assembled for our Tier I teams in terms of coaching experience and knowledge of the game. The player’s fortunate enough to play for these men should reap tremendous benefits. Good luck to everyone at tryouts and for a great season.
Pee Wee 2001’s
Joe Ardagna
- Fifteen years of coaching experience the last four years with the Atlanta Fire program
- Played youth hockey in the Georgia Amateur Hockey Association
- Played at New Hampton Prep School, New Hampton, NH from 1978-80 was Team Captain in 1979
- Elected to New Hampton’s "Athletic Hall of Fame" in 2009
- Played at Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Me. From 1980-84, All New England team and Team Captain in 1984
- Level 2 USA Hockey Certification
- Joe was born and raised in Melrose, MA
Aaron Bendickson
- Played youth and high school hockey in Thief River Falls, Minnesota
- Played one year in NAHL for the Bismarck Bobcats and was named Rookie of the Year
- Played Junior hockey in the USHL for Cedar Rapids and Des Moines
- Won National Championship with Des Moines
- Played 4 years of College at the University of Wisconsin D1 WCHA
- Played professional hockey with the Rochester Americans (AHL) and the Gwinnett Gladiators (ECHL). ECHL All-Star
- Aaron was born and raised in Thief River Falls, Minnesota.

Steve Jacobs Jr.
- Nine years coaching experience Mites through Prep School levels
- Played AAA Youth Hockey for Minuteman Flames in Massachusetts
- Played Prep School Hockey at Cushing Academy 1999-2002 and was named Captain in 2002
- Played three years at University of Massachusetts Amherst D1 Hockey East
- Level 4 USA Hockey Certification
- Steve grew up in Hudson, MA
Tom Glavine
- Eleven years coaching experience - Mites through Bantam levels
- Seven years with the Atlanta Fire program
- Played travel hockey through high school and was drafted
in the 4th round of the 1984 NHL draft by the Los Angeles Kings
- Played twenty-three years of professional Major League Baseball eighteen with the Atlanta Braves and five with the New York Mets
- Level 3 USA Hockey Certification
- Tom grew up in Billerica, MA
Bantam 1999’s
Mark Ardagna
- Fifteen years of coaching experience the last four years with the Atlanta Fire program
- Played youth hockey in the Georgia Amateur Hockey Association
- Played at New Hampton Prep School, New Hampton, NH from 1977-79, Team Captain in 1978
- Played Varsity Lacrosse at New Hampton Prep School, Captain, Most Valuable Player, Elected to the All New England Lacrosse Team 1979
- Played four Years Varsity Hockey at Dartmouth College, Frozen Four Team, Team Captain
- Played professional hockey in Dijon, France
- Level 3 USA Hockey Certification
- Mark was born in Melrose, Ma
John Menna
- Eight years of coaching experience at the Mite through Midget levels
- Played youth travel and high school hockey in Connecticut
- Played four years of varsity hockey and was captain at Lehigh University (Div. II)
- Level 4 USA Hockey Certification
- John was born and raised in Greenwich, Connecticut
Midget 16U
Scott Pearson
- Eleven years of coaching experience with the Atlanta Fire, Mite through Midget levels
- Atlanta Fire Coach in Chief
- Played four years of Junior Hockey in the Ontario Hockey League for Kingston & Niagara Falls
- Was drafted in 1988 by the Toronto Maple Leafs with the sixth overall pick in the first round
- Played twelve years professionally in the NHL with the Toronto Maple Leafs, Quebec Nordiques, Edmonton Oilers & Buffalo Sabres, also played in the IHL, AHL and in Germany
- Level 4 USA Hockey Coaching Certification
- Scott was born and raised in Cornwall, Ontario
Randy Boyd
- Fifteen years of coaching experience nine years with the Atlanta Fire, two years coaching the Memphis Riverkings of the Professional Central Hockey League and two years with the Chicago Cheetahs in the Roller Hockey International League
- Played Junior Hockey for the Ottawa 67’s in the Ontario Hockey League
- Played 12 years of professional hockey in the NHL with the Pittsburgh Penguins, Chicago Blackhawks, New York Islanders and the Vancouver Canucks. He also played in AHL, IHL and in Austria
- Level 3 USA Hockey Coaching Certification
- Randy grew up in Coniston, Ontario
Head Goalie Coach
Dan Bouchard
- Twenty-three years of coaching experience ranging from minor hockey to college to head goalie coach for the Quebec Nordiques in the NHL
- Selected by the Boston Bruins in the second round with the 27th overall pick in the 1970 NHL draft
- Played 15 years in the NHL for the Atlanta Flames, Calgary Flames, Quebec Nordiques and the Winnipeg Jets
- Dan grew up in Quebec City, Quebec
